After Resident Evil 5, fans were unsure of what direction the next game could go in; Resident Evil 5 tied up many loose ends that existed since the first Resident Evil, providing finality to much of the series’ plot. While some fans expected a reboot of the series, Resident Evil 6 goes in the opposite direction by starting a new storyline with the same cast of characters. Fan favorite characters such as Sherry Birkin and Ashley Graham also return, giving all Resident Evil fans a reason to check Resident Evil 6 out when it releases on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

Dead Rising 2

After the events at the Willamette Parkview Mall, the zombie situation seemed to be under control. This time around, Dead Rising 2 is being released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and places players in the shoes of the aforementioned Chuck Greene.

This lasted until Resident Evil 4, which shifted the series away from survival horror to the action genre. Resident Evil 5, soon to be released on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, continues the slide away from horror started by the previous game. Resident Evil 5 once again stars Chris Redfield, who fans will remember as the protagonist of the original Resident Evil. Chris is now a member of the BSAA, an international group who deals with handling biological crimes. His current assignment finds him in Africa, where a new bio-weapon not only leads to present day threats, but unearths past threats Chris has thought to be long buried.
