Batman: Arkham Asylum

Batman: Arkham Asylum, coming soon for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, focuses on the two aspects of the character that have made him a comic book icon for the past 40 years: a story that highlights the cerebral side of Batman and his abilities as a crime fighter. Paul Dini, who has brought his experience as a writer from Batman: The Animated Series, has crafted an all-new story that ties into the Batman mythos. When the inmates take over the asylum, Batman finds himself in a fight for his life against some of his worst enemies, including Killer Croc, Scarecrow, Poison Ivy and Joker.

Gears of War 3

Gears of War 3 marks the final game in this Xbox 360 exclusive trilogy. Players have followed Marcus Fenix from his jail cell beginnings to this final chapter, as the war for Sera has now split three ways: humans versus Locust vs. Lambent. In the third chapter, all bets are off the table as the human government has been disbanded, while the remaining members of humanity fight for their lives; not everyone will survive to see the end of the war. Gears of War 3 packs 8 to 10 hours in its single player mode, with nary a break in the action, producing enough explosions and large scale battles to rival any summer blockbuster movie. For the first time in the series, players will play characters other than Marcus Fenix. In addition, the co-operative online play for the campaign has been expanded from two players to four.

From there, strange things happen in the town; residents become possessed by darkness and Alan’s wife is kidnapped. Over the course of a few days, Alan must find out who, or what, has kidnapped his wife and why while he fights for his life against unspeakable horrors.

Halo: Reach

The Halo trilogy covered the story of now iconic gaming protagonist Master Chief and his war with the alien species known as the Covenant. After Master Chief’s story ended with Halo 3, developer Bungie made the decision to go backwards in the series time line and create games exploring key moments in the franchise’s history; moments that had previous been regulated to books or in-game mentions. First came Halo: ODST, which explored the events in the city of New Mombasa through  the eyes of ODST troopers. This was followed up with Halo: Reach, detailing the fall of Reach prior to the events of the first Halo. Like all Halo series, Reach is Xbox 360 exclusive and, for the first time in the series’ history, you play as a Spartan who is not Master Chief.
