Wii are not amused

In a tidbit picked up from Bit-tech.net, Peter Molyneux apparently displayed his concerns over motion sensing controls at the LGC. He pretty much reiterates a concern that was mentioned on the net when the wii was first announced. The worry here is he is basing his opinions off of playing the Wii. To a point he has a valid concern, not to say that certain tactile controls are not fun but the can become strenous after a while. Games such as DDR, Time Cop and guitar hero show that in short bursts the games might be fun but border a chore when it come to those who want to master a game. To disperse the negativity, the Wii apparently will have sensitivity settings, and chances are Molyneux weas playing an unfinished version of the game. In the end it is up to the game devs to find that balance between fun and chore, nothing really new here.

What defines the next generation of games?

The internet is abuzz with people who claim that a change is comming in gaming. That part is true but "how" is the real question. Some people claim that graphics is going to be the motivator for the next evolution. Those people claim it will make games more immersive. Some people claim it is a change in controller design that will decide this. Those people claim it will make games more fun.  What I have not seen are those that are inbetween. A line has been drawn in the sand, one I do not fully understand. So why can't a game console with great graphics be considered fun as well, or vice versa?  Do I have to chose between a game thats designed like Final Fantasy XII and one like Red steel?

How many untitled network readers feel that Fun and Great graphics can peacefully co-exist? How many feel that they can't?
