Thought I'd compile just some of the success stories and comments I've gotten so far on the XBOX 360 In-Store Inventory Tracker. I just decided two days ago to get the 360.  I knew about the shortage of units, so I checked out the forums on xbox.com to look for any release information.  I saw the thread about your tracker and gave it a try.  It works like a charm.  Yesterday I picked up mine from a best buy in NJ, near my apartment.  Today, I took a co-worker to the Best Buy in Midtown Manhattan, 5 blocks from where I work.  I had JUST received notification, and we raced over.  When I asked the customer service rep what time they had got them in, she said, about 5 minutes before you came in! The look on their face was priceless, "how did you know we had them!?!?" HA!  Even the security guards were like, "damn, you knew before we did."  You are a genius, and I am happy and proud to support your work!  My only wish is that you do the same for PS3, when that comes out in the year 2010!

WOW!!! This really works.  I just installed this program this a.m. around 6:30am, and saw a store in Bowie, Maryland had em in stock.  I was skeptical at first, but decided to go there at openin gtime (10am) and asked the service rep if he had any, he said yes and went in the back and brought back a premium system (last one).  He did have some basic consoles in stock as well.  Great app!  I also purchased 3 games, Call of Duty, NBA Live 06, and Madden 06!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I hear ya. I've been using the untitled program. It works great...if you are able to run to the store as soon as they get in. I've got a bunch of hits with that thing, but because of my schedule, I'm busy during the day on weekdays and never able to get to the store in time. I'm basically to the point where I'll just be patient with EB games and wait for my preorder to come in when I'm 35.

i had it running for 2 weeks before a shipment came in! bout a month ago the program beeped at 12:30 saying there was 360's at BB, but i had a class at 1:00 with a test i couldnt miss... so at 2, i raced home, scheked the comp - still there - drove 30 minutes in rush hour traffic - walked into best buy, asked the security lady at the door, she said "here's another one!" a guy went into the back, grabbed me one, and i was out of the store in 7minutes. i had to come back later because i forgot to get a game! laugh.gif since then there has only been one shipment (well, one to BB and one to CC) (in the past month!) to the stores in Oregon. my friend wants one and didnt have the money when it was at BB, and at CC they were only there for about 30-45 minutes!

Thanks for the application! Worked great. Got my tax refund this week so I started looking for the 360 yesterday. I went to my regular store and asked and they said they didn't have one. I downloaded this application right after and it said that store did have some. Maybe the guy lied? Whatever. I just wanted to say thank you as well. After camping out 2 different days and random "drop ins" I scored myself 2 xboxes this week. First one was a core (bought as a last resort, but I scored a HD from my local Wally Mart). Today I got a text message on my phone and called up Best Buy in Oxford Valley PA. They got in 10 premiums this morning. I left work early and raced over there to get the 3rd one sold at 4 PM. My buddy tried to get there by 6 and they were sold out. Thanks for the app. I hadn't been looking very hard, but in December decided I would get a 360 when they were generally available, but I wasn't going to pay extra to someone on ebay who was likely a store employee taking out of general inventory or small store owner trying to charge over list. Got more and more annoyed with the wait so I downloaded your app when I heard about it on one of the gadget blogs. Only ran it when I thought I might have time to go to the store. Friday afternoon I was about to go to the grocery store and checked inventory before I left. BB in San Carlos, CA showed stock. Since I had my jacket on and keys in hand already, I was on the road in under a minute, there in under 15 minutes. There were two premium and three core systems left when I got there. I snagged one of the Premium systems and the other four were gone less than 5 minutes later. On the way out the security guys asked how I knew to come down because the systems had just been set out a half hour earlier. If I'd assumed that they were following the procedure of keeping the in a back room I would have wasted time by the cashiers and not got one. They had set the boxes directly under their demo 360 for whoever walked by. It was a very narrow time window that I never would have caught without your app. That's worth at least $20 of value to me.

What struck me as so cool about this program is how actually usable it is. Being able to disable the stores, clicking on them for phone and directions, the options on updating...it's all really simple and does what you want it to do. Great job!

So, after weeks and weeks of looking for an Xbox, I came across this site. At first, I was EXTREMELY skeptical. It was a shot, but, I had tried everything else, so what the hell. I downloaded it, and installed it Sunday afternoon, after setting the search options for my area, I let it be. This morning I awoke to the sound of "FINALLY! heheheheh!". Thank you! I downloaded the program and after a few days I noticed that they were in stock while I was at my compuer at the Best Buy near Fenway Park so I took a ride over and unfortunately was witness to the last person who purchased on. After that point, I set it to text message me when they came in and maybe if they came in by where I work or something. I got a message around 4:15pm right before I was due to leave that they were in stock a few towns over (somewhere I was going by later that night anyway) - Upon getting home, I relaxed and decided that when it was around 6 or so if the program was still saying they arrived, I'm gonna take a shot at it. I got to the store a little before 7 and went to the video games section and asked around and none of the nearby associates had much of a clue. Most said that they've been out of stock for a while which I knew to be false so I just waited around looking for the video games associate, while also browsing around for other stuff. I was in the middle of the computer games section halfway across the store when I heard a page for someone to the video games area so I hot-tailed it over there, found the guy right as he was going into the back for a mother and her kid. When he came out, he had a plain brown box and was helping them with recommendations on accessories and games. I asked if he had more than just that one and the box he had actually had two systems in it, so I grabbed one and it was done deal. When I went to cancel my preorder up the street aftwards, I got the impression I was not the only one to have done the same thing as the guy said their register was just completely empty for cash almost. I also noticed at least 25 slips he had to go through looking for my preorder, which means there's no way in hell without this program I would've gotten a system before March/April. I was pretty psyched to say the least.

About a week later I was notified about Circuit City a couple of miles away having them. I rushed up there, had to talk to a manager. He went to get it and brought it out. Said they only had two. I just wanted to send you a quick note and thank you for your Xbox360 app.  For Xmas I was promised an Xbox360 when they became available.  A month went by and I went to the forums to find out what the status of shipments were and found your app.  I installed it that night and all the stores in my area were out of stock.  I setup the email notification and went to bed.  The next morning I went to work and at 10:30 am I was notified by email that they were avialable at my local CC. The next day I went to Best Buy to pick it up. The app checks the supply of your local Best Buy and (I think) Circuit City and another store, rather than their availability online. I had a ton of Best Buy gift certs saved up, hence why I was waiting for Best Buy to get them back in. Definitely worth it...when the program notified that the local BB had them in stock, I called, and the guy said they'd just gotten unloaded from the truck about 10 minutes prior.

Use the online inventory trackers to score youself a 360. I started using it 2 days ago, was notified today via SMS text message as soon as they became available. Dad was at work, 360 at BBs come from the sky! We're tight on money, so he can only use his BB credcard. So, he had an appointment after work and he was leaving for it when I checked. My closest store ran out before my dad's appointment was over, but the BB in the same town as him (YAY!) started out with 12 and after 2 hours had 6. I called, and about 30 min. earlier, they had gotten 15 or so Premiums in. I rushed over there and snagged one, clutching it to my chest tightly. The rest of my night will be consumed with Tiger Woods and DOA4...I'm glad I read this thread and found out about the inventory tracker.

Actually, both the BB and the CC ones work- yesterday I went into a CC that had it 'in stock' and saw a guy walking out with the last one.

Big Ups to (untitled) for the program got my 360 today HOLLA! I did encouter some resistance or a flat out lie from a store that was a few hours away as the tracker indictaed them getting a shipment with multiple employees telling me they had not. As soon as i received word that my local store did have some in stock I called and they did verify that they had a handful of cores and premiums. The first employee I spoke with upon entering the game section said "I'm not sure if we have any left" but asked another who preceeded to lead me to gaming utopia. Again thanks a bunch (untitled)!!!

I would just like to say... untitled.. YOU ARE THE MAN. That is so bad azz that you made a program to help people out. I have been wanting a 360 for about two months now, but they are just too hard to get a hold of. I came on this forum to see what people have to say about their 36o's as I always do and saw this thread. I downloaded your program and today when I got home I opened it and it said that a store about 90 miles away from me had some 360's in stock. Once I realized it was the Best Buy that was out of my city i knew i wouldn't make it in time to get one but even though it wasn't the best buy close to me I still think that is bad as ****. Thanks a ton! That app has more use than one would ever belive... but a simple mod to allow it to track other items would extend its use and life. While making you famous outside the Xbox 360 circle. (The CC staff was kinda confused tho... but I still got it! ^_^)

Thanks to untitiled i scored myself a 360, thank you!  I don't have paypal otherwise i would donate :'(.  I got the text message at lunch at school today and called some people to get it for me.  Best Buy claimed they didn't have any but they insisted they check their inventory.  Here, reno NV, their policy is if their stock locator says its in and they don't have it yet, a person can buy it and when it gets in they can pick it up.  Lucky enough the person who got it for me was in that process and some guy walked up with a 360 box and handed it to them.  Good day for me!

Here's another testimonial. I was sitting at work, minding my own business when the Store Tracker went berzerk and the voice of Gir informed me that my Best Buy had just received premiums.
